Home Care Services
DO YOU NEED URGENT HELP To Care For yourself or a loved one at home?
"The realization that you or a beloved family member requires help and care at home to get by can be be overwhelming"
Our NEW Home Care Service is now available in Cumbria and the Lake District and South West Scotland. It's about believing in those people who need help living at home. And it's what we set out to do - Every Day!
Family members and even friends who become “ carers of necessity” might grapple with feelings of inadequacy as they strive to provide the necessary care and assistance their loved ones require.
Despite common perceptions, the notion that relocating to a care facility is the sole solution for long-term care needs is far from accurate. The growing preference for care at home is reshaping the landscape for those who wish to remain in the comfort of their cherished homes while receiving essential care and support.
Home Care is flexible, personal and very much individual to the person in receipt of the service. Our aim is to enable people with varying needs to enjoy the highest standard of care and empower them to live as independently as possible".
If you are an older person or have a physical disability, learning disability or mental health needs, our dedicated home care staff may be able to support you with daily activities such as getting in and out of bed, getting dressed and all aspects of personal care.
We can also help with daily living or domestic tasks like laundry, shopping, and some meal preparation.
For those with additional needs, specially trained staff are available. If you are frail, have been ill, or have just
come out of hospital, you may benefit from short–term home care support. All our Home care services can be provided by our domiciliary team.
All our staff team must be specially trained in areas such as manual handling, first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding and dementia care. All staff have 2 references and background checks with the disclosure and barring service (DBS) prior to commencement of employment with Good Companions.
The hallmark of our service lies in flexibility, reliability, and quality. Families seeking peace of mind and the assurance of top-tier care find solace in our meticulously managed and regulated approach. This approach is setting new benchmarks for Home care, guaranteeing families that their loved ones are in the best possible hands.

These interactive tables are magic!
People with varying abilities benefit greatly from this large touchscreen technology, by being able to interact much more easily than with iPads, Android tablets, or smartphones. The large screen app experience is vastly different and can help improve a sense of well being, happiness, and achievement. Interactive tables are being used in the care environment to reduce boredom, to provide stimulation and to entertain in new ways. Interactive tables are a great example of inclusive technology in practice, since they allow older people and those with disabilities to participate.
Health Benefits
One of the major health benefits of the elderly using computers has to do with keeping their minds’ active. Scientists have found that seniors who play online games improve their memory and help maintain other cognitive skills.
Staying Connected
As we all get older it becomes harder to stay in touch with loved ones. Through e-mail and apps like What’s-app, Messenger etc, the elderly can stay connected with family and friends which combats loneliness and depression.
Interactive activity tables
“I used to enjoy doing puzzles at home, but doing them on the table is good and there are no missing pieces!”
